I use this for spelling practice at home with my autistic boy, he is 11. We have to practice our spelling words so using the banana makes it really fun. My 4 year old just likes to play with the letters, she is at that age where letters are so cool. I have not played the game so won't comment on it. The banana bag is well made and very durable. The zipper is well made also and I can tell this will last a long time. There are plenty of each letter included. I can take this banana with me easily since it is rather small. At first I thought the price was steep for something so simple but now I see its worth. Pictures included.

I love it. My granddaughters (7 and 11) - not so much. We don't compete - just make up our words and try to insert them. You can use whatever tiles are left to make up your words. They like that and I assume they are learning new words and spelling them. We tried using the 11 year old spelling words hoping that would give her another way to look at them. That didn't go well and I had to look for where she hid the banana. In the past we had an apple - same idea. Don't have that at this house. I recommend the game - just make up your own rules.

So glad my friends introduced me to this game. I had to get one. It’s like scrabble but you don’t have to be especially smart. It’s challenging but there’s no triple word scores or anything like that. It’s a fairly quick game. You just play as many rounds as you want to. And just 2 people can play it. Also, if you’re bored, you can just sit and challenge yourself (though that’s not in the rules). Sometimes somebody will be at the table eating and you want to sit and talk, well you can just pull out 21 tiles and play around with it while they’re eating. It’s really fun! And the tiles are really good quality. Cute little banana bag to hold them. So convenient. So happy I bought this!

We use the Bananagrams weekly for our Seniors who live in our retirement home. All levels of activity and mentality enjoy this game. Some make words in a single line, and that is good too.. We work on spelling, and the meaning of words! Every Senior facility should use this game. I happily recommend it. We all look forward to playing it each week.

hello, bananagrams is a fun game for everyone. we are scrabble aficionados, but carrying around a large box was not very handy. this game is held in a neat yellow banana that can fit into most women's medium size purses or in anyone's bookbag. now, we can play anywhere. the game idea is just about the same as regular scrabble, but there is no board, just crosswords. yes, some people said to purchase a used scrabble set to just use the numbered letter cubes, but we wanted something different. there is a larger version of the bananagram game that has more letters, so, that will be our next purchase. we will just have to buy a larger purse to keep this larger yellow banana secure. ha...an outstanding game with very fast delivery.

Definitely a lot of fun! Got this for a friend after having bought two previous versions for us and for some cousins. Everybody loves playing it and end up spending hours at a time! Helps you learn new words and while not exactly scrabble, knowing a bunch of two letter words come in handy when you're trying to win! We had 10 year olds and 50 year olds at the same table and everyone had a lot of fun. Gameplay is really easy. Everyone gets a fixed number of tiles to start with, with the remaining ones in the center. You work on using up all your provided tiles and when the first person is done, they yell "peel". Every time someone uses up all their tiles (and it goes fast after the initial period), you yell "peel" with the aim of using up all the tiles in the center and keep your opponents occupied with an onslaught of letters. Easy to carry around and can be played in a solitary version as well.

We love Bananagrams in our house. With five younger kids, it's also a fun way to teach them letters, how to spell and inspire creativity. Mom still rules at this game, but the rest of the house still loves taking her on. We've also played the game together as a team and it's a lot of fun to see the words that we can come up with and to see how fast we can use every letter. You may have to Google some words to see if they are real, but it's an absolute blast! On a practical note, it's so much easier to break out and play wherever you are, which makes it a hit during summer travels. From our household to yours, we highly recommend you get in on the action with Bananagrams!

This is a great game for people that like writing, scrabble, competition, puzzles, etc. It's a bit like scrabble in you make a board spelling out words that connect off each other, but its different in that each person has their own personal board, and there are no points to the letters. It is a time-based game of who can use all their tiles the fastest. I wouldn't recommend this game be played in a group that is not evenly matched- it is very obvious if a player is falling behind more quick spellers, and could result in bad feelings. It only works well if everyone is evenly matched.

For those of you complaining about the quality, go to the Bananagrams website, click the button that says "purchase through Amazon here," and buy it that way. It started out a dollar more expensive but there was a 20% off coupon on the Amazon purchase so I ended up saving $. The 2 sets I purchased this way are the original type tiles, solid and well made. Type face is consistent and clear. Hope this helps.

Great game! I'm a high school English teacher and I play this game with my coworker to keep us sharp. I also invite students to play when finished with tasks early. It's fun and allows then to brush up on their spelling and vocabulary. I often break students up into pairs and have them work as a team to complete an 11 tile challenge or a 21 tile challenge. the boys I babysit are much younger (9 and 11) and they love this game too. I highly recommend it for teachers, babysitters, and anyone who wants to have family fun!
